Meet Miss Daisy!

Daisy was part of the first group of hens I came across when I decided to indulge in my new passion for poultry.  She quickly became the mother of them all. Daisy is a big and beautiful Light Brahma chicken, with black and white feathers and feathered legs. Her eggs are the largest of my chicken family and can be distinguished by their beautiful pink color. Daisy is also the friendliest of all of my hens, but that is predictable as the Brahma breed is known for their friendly characteristics!

Say Hello to Miss Lily!

Lily is a Barred Plymouth Rock chicken. The Barred Rocks are one of the most popular breeds of chicken in America. Lily produces a medium-sized light brown egg. She is one of the most dependable egg layers in my flock and always loves a good mealworm treat!

Let Me Introduce You To Miss Jasmine!

Jasmine, like her sister Lily, is also a Barred Plymouth Rock chicken. She produces the same shape and size of egg as Lily does, however, you can often tell the difference between the two because Jasmine's eggs are always a bit darker brown than Lily's. Jasmine's favorite pastime is to stick with her sister and peck at mealworms to her hearts' content. She is such a pleasure to have in my flock and is a consistent layer.

Meet Poppy!

Poppy is an Ameraucana chicken with gorgeous apricot color feathers. She is the smallest hen in my flock. Poppy lays what we call "grue" eggs, or greenish-blue eggs every other day of the week. She is noticeable by her stubbornness as she often runs in the opposite direction when called. She has a personality of her own, and that is why I love her!

And Here Is... Marigold!

Marigold, like her sister Poppy, is an Ameraucana chicken. She flaunts big and beautiful puffy feathered cheeks, a common characteristic of the Americana breed. Marigold lays light green eggs. She has lovely creamsicle feathers, which sets her apart from the rest of the flock. Her favorite treat is tasty kale or a few bites out of a sweet strawberry (she comes running every time she sees me carrying a bag of them!).

Last But Not Least... Rose!

Rose is Rhode Island Red. This breed is among the most popular with the hen raising crowd because they are reliable egg layers and are an all around hardy breed.. She proudly wears her red colored feathers as she struts around the garden. The chicks have chosen Rose as the leader of the Em's Eggs flock. She upholds this honor with pride.
